‘Complement the theoretical training given at the University with more significant learning, through the dissemination of experiences and good practices of social and community intervention in the local context where the students reside and where the faculty itself is located.’

In what ways are experts by experience involved in higher education? Here is a list of activities in education and research, in which experts by experience involved in the partner institutions of this project participated.

Different roles of an expert by experience
As it is not easy for people to assign themselves a role, we asked experts by experience about their motivation See here what drives them to be involved in higher education.
In Higher Education, experts by experience can take the role of vision provider/eyeopener, representative, connector, innovator, policy influencer. We are inspired by two documents, in which you can find more information: a framework of roles defined in the context of a plan on cooperation with experts by experience in mental health services (Steunpunt Geestelijke Gezondheid[2] BE) and a study of movisie[3], a Dutch organisation, supporting social workers and organisations on social interventions here.
